The basic choices of shutters can be split into:

- Faux Wood – A mixture of composite materials create a durable shutter whilst still keeping its wooden appearance. Again a choice of finishes and colours can help fit any of your rooms decor.
- Vinyl – A highly durable option of shutter which is resistant to warping, chipping, scratches and discolouration making it the perfect option for bathrooms, kitchens and children’s bedrooms. Having said this they certainly do not look out of place in a period living room.
