Interior shutters are fast becoming one of the most desirable window dressings and it is not surprising considering the choices in designs and construction methods. Whether it is full height or café style set up you prefer there is a design to suit both the modern property and a period home. Choices in door configuration and louvre size mean you can control the light and vision through the shutters to suit your requirements.
The basic choices of shutters can be split into:
- Wood – Real Hardwood shutters are constructed with dovetail joints providing a strong framework. They are available in large choice of colours as well as being able to be custom painted from any shade on the RAL colour chart.
- Faux Wood – A mixture of composite materials create a durable shutter whilst still keeping its wooden appearance. Again a choice of finishes and colours can help fit any of your rooms decor.
- Vinyl – A highly durable option of shutter which is resistant to warping, chipping, scratches and discolouration making it the perfect option for bathrooms, kitchens and children’s bedrooms. Having said this they certainly do not look out of place in a period living room.
